Cécile Droz-Perroteau, PhD is a pharmaco-epidemiologist. She has been working for > 20 years in epidemiology & pharmacoepidemiology. Her areas of research include drug utilization and measure of drug exposure, drug safety. She has been supervising large national and international studies, using various and complex designs, various data sources from primary data (field studies) or secondary data (database studies) in diverse therapeutic fields.
Dr Cécile Droz-Perroteau carried out her studies in Public Health from 1997 at the University of Bordeaux, studies supplemented by a thesis in pharmacoepidemiology defended in 2012. In 2003, after 4 years of experience at INSERM in clinical research on HIV, she joined the BPE team to participate in the implementation of the CADEUS study: a major study in France assessing coxibs. This large-scale pharmacoepidemiolocal study was the first to be carried out, in 2003, at the request of the French health authorities, with an original and advanced design: 46,000 patients included in 11 months combining data collected from patients, from prescribers and then linked to the French National Healthcare claims databases.
Currently Director of the BPE (INSERM CIC1401 de Bordeaux), Cécile Droz-Perroteau, is an elected member of the ENCePP steering committee. Since CADEUS, she has extensive experience in analysis of the French National Healthcare Insurance System (SNDS) data. She has been involved in many multi-country and multi-database projects, and has managed several large and even very large-scale field studies. She is passionate about team management and the implementation of efficient operational processes to lead pharmaco-epidemiological projects taking into account all the required aspects: optimization of costs, quality and deadlines, her challenge: to carry out high-performance, quality projects in a constrained context subject to numerous uncertainties.
Dr Cécile Droz-Perroteau has published more than 85 papers in peer reviewed journals.
