
Montse Soriano Gabarró, MD, MSc, FISPE, is an Epidemiology, Global Health and Policy independent advisor and expert. She has a background in medicine with a specialty in preventive medicine and public health and postgraduate training in tropical medicine, infection and health in the tropics and epidemiology. Montse initiated her career as a clinician and epidemiologist at the University Barcelona, followed by several years of field work in DRC, Mozambique, West Africa and at the CDC, Atlanta, US. In 2005 Montse joined GSK Biologicals leading the Worldwide Epidemiology GSK Biologicals team, contributing to the development and evaluation of novel vaccines. In 2010 she joined Bayer AG where she led the global Epidemiology team and the conduct of pharmacoepidemiological studies and Real-world Evidence programmes until 2020. Between 2020 and 2024 Montse led Partnerships, Policy and the Integrated Evidence Generation team and projects at Bayer AG, while contributing to COVID-19 initiatives and promoting science at Bayer, as Bayer Distinguished Science Fellow. Montse is also a Fellow of the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (FISPE) and an active contributor to ISPE Committees and Special Interest Groups. She regularly contributes to global health and educational initiatives.
