Emilie Lambourg, PharmD, PhD, is a pharmacist who completed 2 years of laboratory medicine residency in Marseille’s hospitals (Assistance Publique des Hôpitaux de Marseille – APHM), before graduating as an Industry Pharmacist.
Her strong interest for data science and statistics then took her to the UK where she completed a MSc in “Health Data Analytics and Machine Learning” at Imperial College London, followed by a PhD in Biostatistics at the University of Dundee, under the supervision of Dr Samira Bell and Prof Lesley Colvin. During her PhD thesis in Scotland, Emilie’s research focused on the use of advanced methods for causal inference (target trial emulation, marginal structural models, etc) to answer research questions targeting patients with renal diseases. She also had the opportunity to conduct multiple systematic reviews and meta-analyses, gain R programming skills, teach courses in epidemiology and biostatistics, supervise Master of Public Health students and publish articles in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
Back to France since 2023, Emilie then worked for over a year as a Data Scientist at Horiana, a Bordeaux-based CRO, where she gained experience in conducting SNDS-based studies, before joining the Bordeaux PharmacoEpi (BPE) platform in February 2025 as Pharmacoepidemiologist. At BPE, Emilie collaborates on national and international projects to deliver high-quality pharmacoepidemiology studies based on the analysis of real-world data.
