Jing Zhao, PhD, holds a PhD in mathematics obtained from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Her interest in public health and epidemiology led her to expand her expertise into biostatistics, epidemiology, and programming, building a multidisciplinary profile grounded in quantitative rigor.

She worked as a researcher at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Oslo, serving as the contact for the multinational COVID 19 vaccine safety study, VAC4EU. She also contributed to other initiatives, including COHERENCE and VERDI, supporting study design, data management, and analytical workflows across large scale observational projects.

Before joining BPE, Jing worked at Boehringer Ingelheim as a RWE specialist. She performed analyses across multiple therapeutic areas — Respiratory (IPF ILD), CNS (MDD, Schizophrenia, Bipolar), and Cardio Renal Metabolic (CKD, Obesity, MESH). She also contributed to EHDEN as a Data Partner reviewer and supported analytics for the Heavy Menstrual Bleeding project, as well as IHI-RealiseD for rare diseases. Additionally, she developed contribution and attribution toy models to support KPI measurement for strategic operations.

Jing has worked with real-world data sources including Norwegian health registries, Optum Market Clarity, Truveta, Holmusk NeuroBlu, AMP SCZ, CPRD, Cegedim THIN (UK/BE), and IQVIA Germany. Her methodological focus is on estimating intervention effectiveness and/or impact, with particular attention to data quality.

At BPE, Jing contributes to multinational collaborative projects to deliver high quality results through rigorous analysis of real world data.
